About T-Jath Industries
The products produced by T-Jath Industries are a result of our experiences over the last 10 years in caring for a disabled son. They were developed to eliminate the added laundry and cleaning load resulting from the inability to hold the position of the readily available washable and disposable underpads on a bed. As we shared our experiences with others, we found our situation was common among those dealing with the bed wetting challenges associated with incontinence, nocturnal enuresis, and physical disabilities or illnesses.
Like millions of people, our son had the challenge of bedwetting due to the deep sleep pattern of Nocturnal Enuresis. He overcame this using a bed pad alarm system, and stayed mostly dry at nights for 2 years.
He then began having epileptic seizures. The side effects of the medications he took to control the seizures were increased urination and the deep sleep pattern of nocturnal enuresis. We have since discovered that this medicinally induced incontinence is also very common in our world. We struggled to help him overcome the resultant bedwetting with the alarm system again, but the medicinally induced bedwetting was not impacted at all by our efforts.
After 8 frustrating, sleep deprived months, we changed our efforts from trying to stop the bedwetting to efficiently managing the situation. We chose washable underpads for their overall cost and robust nature. Our son proved to be an extremely restless sleeper changing positions so often that he would wad up and push out of the bed the regular underpads every night. He would dislodge the underpads with tuck in flaps about 10% of the time. We spent a number of years trying different clips until the Secure Strap system for washable underpads was developed. Over years of use, the clips currently used have held the pad most securely, and have been the easiest to use.
Our son’s heavy voids due to the medication also overwhelmed the underpads on an almost daily basis. Our solution for this was the Secure Shields, which eliminated the need for daily laundering of the bottom sheet. It also extended the useful life of the washable underpads by providing a moisture barrier when the underpad backing wore out.
A marketing trial showed that while the need for the Secure Straps and Secure Shield products existed, the sales potentials was relatively small. However, a few Sales Managers for some of the companies contacted requested a holder for disposable underpads. Their customers had frequently requested a cost effective way to hold regular disposable underpads in place. Others wanted a less expensive and more ergonomic alternative for the tuck-in flap style disposable underpads.
In response to their requests we spent the next year and a half developing the Pad Secure system. With over four months of using the Pad Secure system, our son has not once dislodged the disposable underpad. We have also noted in our testing that the top sheet, which was almost always damp with the washable underpads, has been wet in the morning only once a week on the average, and so the laundry and clean-up has truly been reduced to almost nothing.
Our focus has been seeking a better way to utilize existing underpad products to improve the comfort and quality of life for our family. We understand the need for quality bedwetting management solutions from personal experience. Our goal is to provide you with quality, long lasting products that reduce the load of managing and improve the lives of those living with the challenges of bedwetting.
