Click on the play button below to watch a video on the use of Pad Secure disposable underpad holders.

Using Secure Strap Underpad Holders:
1. Place straps between mattress and box springs or mattress foundation
2. Place the washable underpad on bed and adjust the strap length to allow 1-2" slack in the loop. CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE STRAPS SO THERE IS NO SLACK. IT IS CRITICAL TO LEAVE THIS SLACK IN THE STRAP LOOP AS IT WILL BE USED UP WHE THE BED FLEXES WHEN OCCUPIED. Tightening the straps so that the underpad is held tightly while the bed is unoccupied will result in damaged lance clips and a less secure hold on the shield when the bed is occupied. Straps should be snug but not taut when the bed is occupied.
3. Release the clips on the underpad only when the bed is unoccupied. Opening a clip with the underpad pulling on the strap may result in damage to the lance clip and a drastic reduction in holding strength.

Using Secure Shield bed and mattress protection:
1. Place straps between mattress and box springs or mattress foundation
2. Place shield on bed with the edges extending over both sides of the mattress and adjust the strap length to allow 3/4-1"" slack in the loop. IT IS CRITICAL TO LEAVE THIS SLACK IN THE STRAP LOOP AS IT WILL BE USED UP WHE THE BED FLEXES WHEN OCCUPIED.Tightening the straps so that the shield is held tightly while the bed is unoccupied will result in damaged lance clips and a less secure hold on the shield when the bed is occupied. 3. Release the clips on the shield only when the bed is unoccupied. Opening a clip with the shield pulling on the strap may result in damage to the lance clip and a drastic reduction in holding strength.
4. The Vinyl shield can be machine or hand washed in any temperature water with regular laundry soaps. Avoid bleach and other harsh detergents. Tumble or line dry.
5. If urine overflows to the bottom sheet and wicks under the shield, remove the shield and rinse the back off or launder the shield prior to the urine drying. Septic urine will stiffen the vinyl and reduce the flexiility and softnes of the vinyl facing.

Washing and Cleaning:
1. If the straps become soiled, remove them from the binder clips or lance clips and hand or machine wash in warm or hot water. The buckles can be left on the straps or removed completely if desired during laundering. Line or tuble dry, then re-thread assemblies as required. Strap threading directions can be viewed below.
2. If a sanitizing wash to kill all inffectious pathogens is desired, disassemble underpad holders completely and soak all components for 1/2 hour in a solution of 1/2 cup bleach per gallon of water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and line or tumble dry prior to reassembly.
